DONATE TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR CULTURAL EQUITY
The Association for Cultural Equity (ACE) was founded by Alan Lomax to explore and preserve the world's expressive traditions. He dedicated his life to recording, preserving and promoting the music, dance and oral histories of men and women whose talent and wisdom give a true voice to their own communities.
Our mission is to facilitate cultural equity. We use the enormous resources of the Alan Lomax Archive to maintain and preserve public interest in the music of the world's communities. We actively partner with museums, universities and cultural centers to repatriate copies of the music, photographs, films and related field-notes back to the communities that Lomax documented. Our goal is to give these partners the materials and the also the tools (such as teaching resources) to actively make the collections accessible to the villages and towns that they sprang from.
Several projects are underway in 2011-2012 including repatriation programs with partners in the U.S., Caribbean, Spain, Ireland, Scotland and Italy. Your donations enable ACE to continue our Repatriation Program, our Dissemination Programs, the Performance Style and Culture Project, and the creation of Teaching Resources
ACE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
All donation receipts are sent via email, and can be sent by fax or post if requested.
