Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival Honors Alan’s Work

Beginning at 2pm on July 29, 2012, Lincoln Center Out of Doors celebrated the music and culture of Ireland with “OURLAND: Celebrating Irish Culture in America! The Music, The Bards, The Magic.” This wonderful day of music concluded with a group of concerts, beginning at 6pm, entitled  ”A Parting Glass: Celebrating Alan Lomax’s Work / Preserving Ireland’s Musical Heritage.” From the Lincoln Center website:

“The late Alan Lomax’s extensive recordings in Ireland are reprised as we explore a shared musical heritage with round-robin Irish-Americana performances led by Lomax archive director Don Fleming with supergroup Cherish The LadiesLianne Smith, a performance fom the cast of Broadway’s ONCE, winner of 8 2012 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL!, and more.”
