SOUTHERN ITALIAN PEASANT MUSIC IN A POST MODERN WORLD: From Lomax to Today

On February 11, at 6 pm, the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at NYU will be holding a free event featuring David Marker, a young Italian-American field recorder, who will present recordings both from Alan Lomax’s 1954 trip to Italy as well as his own contemporary work. Anna Lomax Wood will participate in the discussion. Additionally, Marker and another Italian American musician, Dominic Porco, will perform live music rarely heard in the US.
