The Georgia Humanities Organization presents a screening of Alan Lomax’s “Dreams and Songs of the Noble Old” as part of a month-long summer series of conversations and lectures, musical performances, and films honoring America’s roots music on the Georgia coast. One of five films made from the footage that Alan Lomax shot between 1978 and 1985 for the PBS American Patchwork series (1991), the film shows the talents and wisdom of elderly musicians, singers, and story-tellers who perform to preserve and share their culture.
“Dreams and Songs of the Noble Old” screened on August 16, 2012 at 5:30pm.
